President of India extends his greetings on the eve of Army Day 2016

The President, Pranab Mukherjee, the Vice President, M. Hamid Ansari, the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, the former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, the Union Minister for Defence, Manohar Parrikar and other dignitaries, at the “At Home” function, on the occasion of 68th Army Day, in New Delhi on January 15, 2016.
New Delhi. 15th January, 2016. The President of India,Pranab Mukherjee extended his greetings and felicitations to all officers, soldiers, civilians, ex-servicemen and their families on the eve of the Army Day 2016.
In his message, the President has said, “I am happy to learn that the Army Day is being celebrated on January 15, 2016. The Indian Army exemplifies professionalism, selfless commitment and unparalleled bravery. It continues to defend our borders across some of the most challenging terrains in the world. I pay my respect to our brave martyrs, who have made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. The nation is indebted to them and their families.
“I wish to place on record my deepest appreciation for the Indian Army’s contribution to nation building and the commitment of our soldiers to the service of the nation. I am confident that in keeping with its glorious traditions, the Indian Army will continue to do the nation proud. On the occasion of Army Day 2016, I extend my greetings and felicitations to all officers, soldiers, civilians, ex-servicemen and their families,” he added.
