New Delhi. 26 February 2019. In the most befitting reply to the Pakistan backed terror attack in CRPF convoy at Pulwama recently, which killed 44 soldiers, Indian Air Force carried out strikes on a terrorist camp across the Line of Control (LoC), according to media reports. The official confirmation is awaited.

The attack was confirmed by Major General Asif Ghafoor, DG ISPR, Pakistan in a series of tweets since early morning today. Tweet1 said, ” Indian Air Force violated Line of Control. Pakistan Air Force immediately scrambled. Indian aircrafts gone back. Details to follow.” Tweet 2 says, ” Indian aircrafts intruded from Muzafarabad sector. Facing timely and effective response from Pakistan Air Force released payload in haste while escaping which fell near Balakot. No casualties or damage. ” Tweet 3 added, ” Payload of hastily escaping Indian aircrafts fell in open.” Tweet 4 summarised, ” Indian aircrafts’ intrusion across LOC in Muzafarabad Sector within AJ&K was 3-4 miles.Under forced hasty withdrawal aircrafts released payload which had free fall in open area. No infrastructure got hit, no casualties. Technical details and other important information to follow. ”

The strikes were carried out around 3:30 this morning. The aircraft dropped 1,000 kg laser-guided bombs on a major terror camp across the Line of Control (LoC), completely destroying it, news agency ANI reported, quoting Air Force sources.

Indian Air Force has put on high alert all air defence systems along the international border and LoC to respond to any possible action by Pakistan Air Force. Terror launch pads in Balakot, Chakoti, Muzaffarabad and Alpha-3 control rooms of Jaish-e–Mohammad were destroyed in the 21 minutes air strike.
