MBDA & BDL to assemble missiles in India

Le Spezia, Italy. 19 September 2019. MBDA has announced that it has signed an agreement with Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) the flagship missile maker of India for final assembly, integration and testing (FAIT) of Mistral and ASRAAM in India.

Chairman & Managing Director BDL Cmde. Siddharth Mishra(Retd.) in an exclusive interview to Aviation & Defence Universe (ADU) at DSEi 2019 in London on 12th September had informed that MBDA and BDL would sign the MOU at the Stevenage facility of MBDA in UK. The MOU was signed by him and George Kyriakides, Director of International Industrial Cooperation .h

He said that the two companies enjoyed a full and fruitful relationship for many decades and BDL was very pleased to have signed this new agreement to deepen its strategic relation for the future.

The ASRAAM is on the Indian Jaguars and is India’s new generation close combat missile. The Mistral has been successfully integrated on the Dhruv Helicopter and the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH).

George Kyriakides reiterated that this MOU marks the latest step on MBDA’s true commitment to Make in India and it’s partnership with BDL.
