• GKN Aerospace to invest $16 million in expanding its North Charlestown, New Hampshire facility
  • 57,000 sq ft expansion triples the site’s footprint, supporting long-term growth
  • Expansion will create new jobs and further strengthen GKN Aerospace’s U.S. manufacturing footprint

Farnborough, 22 July 2026 – GKN Aerospace today announced a significant expansion of its North Charlestown facility, underscoring its continued investment in advanced aerospace manufacturing capabilities to support global customers.

The expansion will add approximately 57,000 square feet to the existing site, tripling its current size and introducing a production cell dedicated to high-performance compressor blades and vanes.

The investment reflects GKN Aerospace’s commitment to meeting growing market demand for complex aero-engine components. The upgraded facility positions the company to support both current production and future engine platform opportunities. The company is also strategically insourcing key manufacturing processes to enhance production agility.

The expansion creates strong operational synergies with GKN Aerospace’s Muncie, Indiana site, where advanced forging capabilities complement North Charlestown’s precision machining expertise, providing customers with an integrated solution for critical engine components.

The investment will generate new skilled jobs in the region, strengthening GKN Aerospace’s U.S. manufacturing footprint while contributing to local economic development.

Alexander Andersson, SVP Product Solutions said:
“We are investing in engine component manufacturing capabilities where our customers need us most. This expansion in the U.S. strengthens our capacity in a critical area of the supply chain and reinforces our position as a trusted partner on key engine programs.”

Steve Fortier, Administrator of Rural Economic Development, Department of Business and Economic Affairs said:
“GKN Aerospace’s expansion in North Charlestown is a strong vote of confidence in New Hampshire’s skilled workforce and manufacturing ecosystem. This investment will create high-quality jobs and support continued economic growth in the region.”

This investment further demonstrates GKN Aerospace’s commitment to advancing technology, capability, and capacity, ensuring it remains at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing while supporting customers across civil and defence platforms. It also comes at a time of increasing demand and constrained industry capacity for compressor blades and vanes, positioning the company to support customers with reliable, high-quality production.
