Defence gets a dash of Goan flavour
Goa. 22 July 2016. The Chowgule Group have made their intentions clear to emerge as a key player in the defence sector over the next few years with the hiring of industry veteran Rajiv Chib, former Director of Aerospace and Defence practice at the global audit and consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers Pvt Ltd. Effective 23 July 2016, Rajiv as a senior VP, will lead the entry into the defence business segment which is likely to involve a number of licensing and strategic partnerships.

Rajiv has more than 30 years of experience in the defence industry and hasassisted a large number of defence firms in formulating their growth strategies, structuring bids and partner search. During his earlier tenure in the Ministry of Defence, he was involved with capital procurement and headed of the erstwhile Defence Offset Facilitation Agency (DOFA) Secretariat.

“Besides being quite excited and honored, I am extremely impressed by the quality of the people, the products and the culture at the Chowgule Group,” Rajiv said. “I would say that the company is in a great position to play a meaningful role towards the Make in India initiative in the defence sector.”

The Indian defence sector offers a significant opportunity for domestic players, given the Government’s intent to promote the private defence industry via a fresh dose of defence reforms.
