Nagpur. 16 January 2023. Headquarters Uttar Maharashtra and Gujarat Sub Area, Nagpur organised a function at 10 locations of Bhusawal, Nagpur, Pulgaon, Devlali, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Dharangdhara, Vadodara, Jamnagar and Bhuj in Maharashtra and Gujarat, to felicitate needy widows and disabled ex servicemen, on the occasion of Army Day.
Major General Dinesh Hooda, Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM), General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Sub Area highlighted the importance of looking after the welfare of needy & disabled Ex Servicemen as also widows who are in financial distress and finding difficulties to sustain their living with the limited pensionary benefits. 21 Widows and one disabled Ex Serviceman were felicitated and given financial assistance earlier. Carrying the tradition forward, on 16 Jan 2023, a total of 27 needy Widows and one disabled Ex Serviceman were felicitated and given financial assistance of Rs 50,000/- each.
