Greater NOIDA. 25 January 2024. ‘Himveer Wives Welfare Association’ (HWWA), an organization working for the welfare of the families of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), celebrated its 31st Raising Day today. In this function, special focus was given on women empowerment.

On this occasion, Gauri Rasgotra, President, ‘HWWA’ expressed her views about the work being done for the benefit of the families of Himveers and future plans. While speaking about Himanshi Outlets and Backers shop, opened in the Force’s formations, she said that on the one hand, better quality handicraft products, food items etc. from remote border areas are being made available to the Himveers at affordable rates; on the other hand, thereby increase in employment and decline in migration are being witnessed; resulting in economic boom. ‘HWWA’ has continued to organize various vocational training programs for the members and children of the Force’s families; thereby there is an enhancement in employment.

The Chief Guest of the occasion was Smt. Shallu Jindal, Chancellor, OP Jindal University, Raigarh, Vice President, Flag Foundation of India, Former President, National Bal Bhavan, Founder President, Young FICCI Ladies Organization (YFLO). He praised the meaningful efforts being made by the ‘HWWA’ for the welfare of the Himveer-families.

Dhiraj Ahuja, Chief Promoter of the Smile Foundation, participated in the event as the guest of honour. With the generosity of this foundation, free BYJU’s classes are being provided to the wards of ‘HWWA’ families.

07 wards of Himveers, who qualified ‘Hotel Management Course’ from Hotel Radisson Blu, Connaught Place, New Delhi were honoured by the ‘Smile Foundation’ with gifts on this special occasion.

On this occasion, physical as well as digital release of HWWA’s annual souvenir ‘Himshikha’ based on the theme of ‘Women Empowerment’ was done. In this souvenir, articles/editorials/poems etc. of members and children along with description of various activities of the ‘HWWA’, carried out throughout the year, have been compiled with.

ITBP Women Pipe Band performance and cultural presentation by ‘HWWA’ members & their families were the main attractions of the function. During this occasion, other senior members of ‘HWWA’ were also present along with a large number of force personnel and their families.
