The Border Security Force Wives Welfare Association (BWWA) celebrated BWWA Day-2026 at the BSF facility in Nizamuddin today. The event was graced by Mrs Richa Jha, President, BWWA, as the Chief Guest.

Approximately 130 Veeranganas and family members of deceased BSF personnel, participated in the event along with other BWWA members. Their presence lent the occasion a deep emotional resonance and a sense of collective pride. In recognition of their courage and resilience, all Veeranganas, along with two specially abled wards of BSF personnel, were felicitated.

Members of the BSF Women’s Mountaineering Team, who scaled Mount Everest and proudly sang Vande Mataram atop were felicitated for their outstanding achievement. Sportspersons who secured podium finishes at various National and International sporting events while representing the country and the BSF were also honoured. Their accomplishments are a matter of immense pride and inspiration for the entire BSF family.

A key highlight of the programme was the release of the 24th edition of the BWWA magazine, Prahari Sangini. The publication highlights BWWA’s welfare activities and initiatives undertaken to create greater awareness among members of the BSF Parivar.

During the event, Chief Guest Mrs Richa Jha interacted with the Veeranganas, listened patiently to their concerns and assured them of appropriate action for the redressal of their grievances.

A community dinner was organised for all participants, symbolising the unity, warmth and solidarity of the BWWA community. In her address, Mrs Richa Jha appreciated BWWA’s dedication, achievements and compassionate outreach over the years. She highlighted the theme ‘Power of SHE’given to the year 2026 and all the BWWA activities designed and executed on this theme. She also mentioned BSF’s special initiative to reach out to the next of kin and family members of BSF Amar Praharis who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty, besides various other welfare measures undertaken for them.

She reaffirmed BWWA’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of BSF families, dependants and specially abled children. The event concluded on a note of unity, welfare and compassion, reaffirming the core values of BWWA.
