Cairo. 29 November 2021. Amidst the feeling that the pandemic is getting over and the news that new strain is striking hard, Egypt went ahead with it’s defence exposition with elan’ but caution. The EDEX-2021 was inaugurated by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi at Egypt International Conference Center in New Cairo, with the Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Defense Minister Mohamed Zaki at his sides.

President El Sisi appreciated the high turnout at the fair and said that this reflects its significance, the strenuous efforts exerted in the organisation of the expo and the weight of the participating companies. After the inauguration, President also watched a documentary produced by the Armed Forces on Egypt’s second EDEX in addition to touring the pavilions, where he was briefed on the military and defence products showcased by participating companies.

And the next four days promise to bring Egypt at the centre stage of all defence and strategic affairs activity not only for the African continent, Asia, Middle East but for the first world nations which definitely understand the importance of the buyer-seller platform the event will create. EDEX 2021 is an opportunity to exchange expertise between professionals from leading international and local bodies in the field of armament systems and defense and military industries.

Defence Minister Mohamed Zaki said, “the four-day event enables manufacturing companies to feature armament and defence systems and the latest developments in military production and industrialisation.The expo has created a sophisticated military gathering to present innovations, trade expertise, and promote military development and military production relations between countries.”

“The reality on the ground has revealed that peace needs potentials and capabilities to be protected and maintained,” the defence minister he added and reiterated “the Egyptian Armed Forces are still the safe fortress that protects the nation. Egypt’s endeavours to possess potentials are meant to safeguard its security and peace.”

This year’s edition is hosting more than 400 exhibitors from Egypt and around the world who have gathered to showcase their latest defense and military technologies across land, sea, and air from 42 countries .

Egypt is a 920,000  personnel strong military which has historically maintained continuous investment in the latest weaponry as a defence strategy and has strengthened national production lines across a range of military complexes. EDEX is fully supported by Egyptian Armed Forces.
