• First Customer Aircraft Already Flying. Permanent Installation Offers Always-On Connectivity: Now Accepting Reservations

SANDPOINT, Idaho, May 21, 2026 — Tamarack Aerospace Group today announced Tamarack AirConnect™, a permanently installed, FAA STC-pending in-flight connectivity system purpose-built for the Cessna Citation light jet fleet. Powered by Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite technology, Tamarack AirConnect delivers broadband-class performance at altitude with no speed restrictions and no windshield interference which are the limitations that have left many Citation operators using work-around portable solutions. Tamarack is now accepting reservations, giving operators the opportunity to secure a priority position in the Tamarack AirConnect installation queue.

The initial Tamarack AirConnect STC program covers all models of the Cessna 525, 525A, and 525B, representing one of the most widely operated light jet fleets in the world. A Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) application has been submitted to the FAA and is currently progressing through the certification review process.

First Customer Aircraft Already Flying
Tamarack has completed installation of Tamarack AirConnect on a customer-owned Cessna 525 (Citation CJ1), which has been operating since March 2026 under Experimental certification in support of the STC program. The aircraft is owned and operated by a Citation pilot and early adopter who volunteered his aircraft to support Tamarack’s certification effort.

“We’ve been flying with the system since March, and it’s exactly what I was hoping for. It just works. It’s always on, it’s fast, and I don’t have to think about it. That’s a big step forward from anything we’ve had before.”

Built for How Citations Actually Fly
Portable Starlink setups, while popular, carry practical limitations well known to Citation operators: direction-dependent signal loss, and the ongoing management of cables, suction cups, and improvised mounts. Tamarack AirConnect eliminates all of these.

The Tamarack AirConnect system uses a permanently installed, aerodynamically optimized, fuselage-mounted antenna that maintains a clear view of the sky. Because the system is designed for use with an aviation-grade service plan, it operates with no ground speed restrictions — whether the aircraft is cruising at 400 knots or riding an 80-knot tailwind.

“LEO satellite technology has proven the performance. What owners have been waiting for is a certified solution that’s engineered correctly and supported like any other aircraft system. That’s what we’re delivering with Tamarack AirConnect.”

— Nick Guida, CEO, Tamarack Aerospace Group

The Tamarack AirConnect System
Tamarack AirConnect includes:

  • Permanent, fuselage-mounted LEO satellite antenna with an aerodynamically optimized low-drag fairing
  • Aircraft-grade cabin WiFi distribution
  • Certified electrical integration
  • Complete FAA STC documentation package

Once certified, Tamarack AirConnect is designed to be installed in approximately three days at a Tamarack-authorized service facility.

Cessna 525, 525A, and 525B — The Entire CJ Fleet

The initial Tamarack AirConnect STC program covers all models of the Cessna 525, 525A, and 525B type certificates, including the Citation M2, CJ, CJ1, CJ1+, CJ2, CJ2+, CJ3, and CJ3+ which is one of the largest and most active light jet fleets in operation worldwide. Tamarack will publish type-specific STC applicability details as certification milestones are achieved.

Your Network, Your Choice

Tamarack AirConnect is designed to be compatible with leading LEO satellite networks, giving operators the freedom to select the service plan and provider that best fits their operational profile. Tamarack AirConnect is intended to support service from:

  • Starlink, operated by SpaceX
  • Amazon Leo, operated by Amazon

Customers will select, subscribe to, and contract their preferred service plan directly with their chosen provider. Tamarack Aerospace Group is the developer, STC holder, and installer of the Tamarack AirConnect hardware system and is not a reseller or provider of satellite connectivity services. All service plans, pricing, coverage, availability, and terms are established solely by and subject to the terms and conditions of the respective service provider. Compatibility with any satellite network is subject to service provider network access authorization.

An Established FAA Certification Framework
Tamarack is no stranger to the FAA certification process. The company currently supports a customer fleet of more than 200 aircraft operating with its FAA-approved Active Winglet upgrade for the CitationJet family and produces Active Winglet kits under FAA production approvals at its Repair Station in Sandpoint, Idaho.

“Our team has an established framework for working with the FAA and other authorities around the world, and the Tamarack AirConnect STC is a natural extension of those capabilities.”

— Jacob Klinginsmith, President, Tamarack Aerospace Group
