• Sabena technics becomes first independent European MRO to select Satair’s end-to-end IMS solution
  • Long-term contract covers On-Site Stock and Pool Service for Airbus fleet maintenance
  • Embedded on-site Satair team and pay-after-use model eliminate inventory holding risk

Amsterdam, 29 October 2026 – At MRO Europe, Satair, a world leader in the commercial aerospace aftermarket, and Sabena technics, a leading independent provider of MRO solutions, announced the signature of a long-term Integrated Material Services (IMS) agreement. Expanding on Satair’s established global IMS footprint across Asia-Pacific and China, this milestone contract marks the first time an independent European MRO has adopted the program, elevating the companies’ long-standing transactional relationship into a multi-year operational collaboration.

Under the agreement, Satair fully manages the planning, availability, and obsolescence of consumable and expendable parts across Sabena technics’ Airbus maintenance activities. The program combines dedicated on-site stock (OSS) at Sabena technics’ facilities with global pool access under a flexible “pay-after-use” model, eliminating capital tie-up and inventory holding risks. A dedicated Satair team will be embedded on-site to integrate directly with local maintenance and procurement teams.

Tommy Hughes, Chief Commercial Officer of Satair, said:

“Welcoming Sabena technics as the first independent European MRO to our IMS program is a major milestone. For years, we have collaborated transactionally; this 10-year commitment elevates our relationship into a deeply integrated model. By combining Sabena technics’ maintenance expertise with Satair’s predictive forecasting powered by global Airbus fleet data, we ensure high parts availability right to the hangar floor at an optimized, predictable cost.”

Hervé Grandjean, Chief Executive Officer of Sabena technics, added:

“In a high-tempo MRO environment, material availability directly dictates aircraft turnaround times. Transitioning to Satair’s IMS model allows us to transform our material procurement: we eliminate inventory holding risk through consolidated billing, while securing guaranteed parts availability backed by committed KPIs. This partnership reinforces our operational agility so we can focus entirely on delivering best-in-class service to our airline customers.”

The contract expands Satair’s global IMS footprint to 28 airline and MRO customers operating across all Airbus aircraft platforms.
