New Delhi. 23 March, 2016. Defence and Security company Saab is set to attend Defexpo in Goa from 28 to 31 March 2016. Saab will be present with a wide portfolio of products and systems from the Air, Land, Sea and Civil Security domains.

The Defexpo has witnessed successive successful participations by Saab. At Defexpo 2016, Saab will display how its advanced technology & innovative thinking pushes boundaries to break through the thought barrier. This year, Saab also celebrates the completion of forty years of successful partnership with Ordnance Factory Board on the Carl Gustaf system.

The exhibits will include, among others, the RBS 70 NG VSHORAD system; the BAMSE SRSAM system; the RBS15 Mk3 surface-to-surface missile; Saab’s Mine Counter Measures (MCM) suite; the Carabas Foliage Penetration radar; the Carl Gustaf M3, M4 and AT4, IDAS and EW Portfolio; and Gripen NG.

“We see synergies between the ‘Make in India’ initiative championed by the Indian government and Saab’s long-held focus on ‘Teaming Up With India’. Having the full support of the Swedish Government, Saab is prepared to make India a design and technology hub in the next decade and also contribute towards developing Indian aerospace capabilities for the next 100 years. We have a ready-made blueprint that complies with every aspect of India’s defence & security ambitions, and cutting-edge systems in our portfolio”, says Jan Widerström, Chairman, Saab India Technologies.

Saab is enjoying a sustained period of expansion. There are few, if any, other defence, security and aerospace suppliers that can deliver the range of effective products found in the Saab portfolio.

“Saab is currently pursuing many individual opportunities to meet the requirements of the Indian defence forces, and we are quite pleased with the progress. We are quite confident about our prospects in the two large air defence programmes, VSHORAD and SRSAM, where we have successfully completed the trials. We are now waiting for the next steps. We look forward to carrying forward our discussions and further showcasing our technology at Defexpo 2016”, says Jan Widerström.
