Port Blair. 07 March 2018. An International Maritime Seminar was conducted on 7th March at Dweepika Auditorium, Haddo, Port Blair, as part of MILAN 18, the ongoing large-scale exercise at Port Blair between navies from 16 Countries of the Asia Pacific and Indian Ocean Regions.
Based on the theme ‘In pursuit of Maritime Good Order – Need for Comprehensive Importance Sharing Apparatus’, the seminar was organised by the Naval Component under the aegis of Andaman & Nicobar Command, where eminent speakers deliberated upon various issues to evolve best practices for multilateral cooperation towards strengthening of maritime good order in IOR. The seminar was attended by delegates from 16 participating Navies of MILAN 18 including senior Officers from Naval Headquarters, New Delhi.
The chief guest on the occasion was Vice Admiral Bimal Verma, AVSM, ADC, Commander-in-Chief, Andaman & Nicobar Command who delivered the inaugural address. Vice Admiral Pradeep Chauhan, AVSM & Bar, VSM (Retd.), Director of National Maritime Foundation delivered the keynote address.
