Parc Des Exposions, Paris. 18 June 2026. The fourth day of Eurosatory 2026 highlighted a defining trend in the global defence sector—the growing importance of industrial partnerships, technology collaboration and international supply-chain integration. While major platforms and technologies continued to attract attention across the exhibition halls, several significant agreements, teaming arrangements, contracts and strategic partnerships were announced, reflecting how defence manufacturers and governments are increasingly relying on collaborative development models to accelerate capability delivery. From long-range rocket programmes and protected mobility solutions to loitering munitions and aerospace upgrades, Day 4 showcased the expanding network of defence-industrial cooperation shaping future military capabilities.
Thales and Mesko Sign MoU on 70mm Rocket Systems
French defence major Thales and Polish defence company Mesko signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening industrial cooperation on 70mm rocket systems in Poland. Under the agreement, Mesko will become a principal industrial partner for the production and support of Thales’ rocket systems, contributing to Poland’s efforts to enhance sovereign manufacturing capabilities while supporting NATO interoperability. The partnership also aligns with broader European initiatives focused on strengthening defence industrial resilience and localising critical production capabilities.
Daimler Truck and Roshel Formalise Strategic Partnership
German commercial vehicle manufacturer Daimler Truck and Canadian armoured vehicle specialist Roshel announced a strategic partnership to address the growing global demand for protected mobility solutions. The agreement builds upon an existing business relationship and seeks to combine Daimler’s expertise in vehicle platforms with Roshel’s experience in armoured vehicle design and protection systems. The partnership is expected to support military, homeland security and peacekeeping requirements worldwide, particularly as demand for rapidly deployable protected vehicles continues to rise.
CSG and Ukrainian Armor Strengthen Defence Industrial Cooperation
Czech defence group CSG and Ukraine’s Ukrainian Armor LLC entered into a strategic partnership focused on strengthening Ukraine’s domestic defence production capabilities. The agreement covers cooperation in propulsion systems, engines and power solutions for missile systems and unmanned platforms. The partnership reflects the continued effort by European defence industries to support Ukraine’s long-term defence requirements while helping develop indigenous manufacturing and sustainment capabilities critical to ongoing operations and future force modernisation.
SMPP and KNDS Sign Teaming Agreement for Loitering Munitions
One of the notable India-related announcements at Eurosatory 2026 was the teaming agreement signed between Indian defence manufacturer SMPP and European land systems leader KNDS. The partnership aims to jointly develop and manufacture next-generation loitering munitions in India, supporting the country’s growing requirement for precision-strike systems and autonomous battlefield capabilities. The collaboration is expected to contribute to India’s self-reliance objectives under the Make in India initiative while facilitating the transfer of advanced technologies and strengthening Indo-European defence-industrial cooperation.
Renault and Thales Launch the 4 TROOP Military Vehicle Programme
French automotive giant Renault Group and defence electronics leader Thales unveiled the 4 TROOP programme, a next-generation military vehicle concept derived from Renault’s commercial vehicle expertise and integrated with Thales’ advanced communications and battlefield networking systems. Designed as a highly mobile and adaptable platform, the vehicle is intended for reconnaissance, command-and-control, surveillance and drone-related missions. The initiative represents a growing trend of leveraging commercial automotive innovation to develop cost-effective military mobility solutions capable of operating in increasingly digitalised battlefields.
Safran and MBDA Selected for France’s Future Long-Range Rocket Programme
French authorities announced the selection of a consortium comprising Safran and MBDA for exclusive negotiations to develop the country’s future long-range rocket capability. The programme is intended to replace France’s existing Lance-Roquettes Unitaire (LRU) system and enhance national deep-strike capabilities. The decision reflects Europe’s increasing emphasis on sovereign long-range precision strike systems and the desire to reduce dependence on non-European solutions. If finalised, the programme will become one of France’s most significant land warfare modernisation initiatives in the coming decade.
U.S. Army Expands International UAS Marketplace Initiative
The United States Army signed a Statement of Intent at Eurosatory 2026 aimed at expanding its Uncrewed Aircraft System (UAS) Marketplace initiative. The programme seeks to accelerate access to proven drone and counter-drone technologies for allied nations while simplifying acquisition pathways for emerging capabilities. By broadening international participation, the initiative is expected to foster greater collaboration in the rapidly evolving unmanned systems sector and improve interoperability among partner nations facing increasingly complex aerial threats.
OCCAR Awards Airbus Contract for New A400M Capabilities
The Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR) awarded Airbus Defence and Space a contract to develop advanced mission capabilities for the A400M military transport aircraft. The programme includes the integration of a Parallel Mission System that will enable the aircraft to perform intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions alongside traditional transport operations. The enhancement significantly expands the operational flexibility of the A400M and supports European efforts to maximise the utility of existing air mobility platforms through advanced digital technologies.
Malaysia Becomes Latest Customer for KNDS CAESAR Artillery System
In one of the notable export successes announced during the exhibition, Malaysia confirmed the acquisition of 18 CAESAR self-propelled artillery systems from KNDS, becoming the fifteenth international customer for the combat-proven artillery platform. The purchase reinforces CAESAR’s reputation as one of the world’s most successful wheeled artillery systems and highlights the growing demand for highly mobile long-range fire support solutions in the Asia-Pacific region. The contract also underscores KNDS’ continued success in expanding its global customer base.
Defence Innovation and Battlefield Technologies Continue to Draw Attention
Alongside the agreements and contracts, exhibitors continued to showcase cutting-edge technologies focused on future battlefield requirements. MBDA presented developments in missile defence and anti-drone systems, including concepts designed to counter mass drone attacks. Rohde & Schwarz highlighted next-generation electronic warfare, SIGINT and tactical communications capabilities, while numerous companies demonstrated artificial intelligence-enabled command systems, autonomous ground vehicles and advanced protection technologies. These innovations reflected the exhibition’s overarching themes of multi-domain operations, digital transformation and battlefield resilience.
Day 4 of Eurosatory 2026 demonstrated that strategic partnerships and industrial cooperation have become as important as platform development in shaping modern defence capabilities. The agreements announced throughout the day reflected key global trends including localisation of production, strengthening of defence supply chains, expansion of autonomous systems, development of long-range strike capabilities and greater collaboration between governments and industry.
From the Thales-Mesko rocket systems partnership and the Daimler Truck-Roshel mobility collaboration to the India-focused SMPP-KNDS teaming agreement and France’s future long-range rocket programme, the exhibition continued to serve as a catalyst for international defence cooperation. As Eurosatory 2026 approached its final day, the focus remained firmly on building resilient partnerships capable of delivering advanced capabilities to meet the rapidly evolving demands of the modern battlefield.
