Uttar Maharashtra & Gujarat Sub Area celebrated the 12 th International Day of Yoga 2026 with great enthusiasm across all military stations under its command. In line with this year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”, simultaneous yoga sessions were conducted at Devlali, Kamptee, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Bhusawal and Nagpur.

The events witnessed enthusiastic participation by serving defence personnel, veterans, families and civilian staff, reflecting the Armed Force’s commitment towards health and wellness. In Nagpur, a joint yoga session by the Indian Army and Indian Air Force was organised at the historic Sitabuldi Fort and was attended by a large number of troops and their family members.

Participants performed various yoga asanas, breathing exercises and meditations techniques under expert guidance. They were also briefed on the benefits of yoga in promoting longevity, flexibility, mobility, preventive healthcare and mental well-being.

The celebrations highlighted Yoga’s role in fostering a healthy lifestyle and enhancing physical fitness, emotional balance and mental resilience. The event reaffirmed the commitment of Uttar Maharashtra & Gujarat Sub Area towards promoting holistic wellness and a culture of healthy living among defence personnel and their families.
