A Mini Marathon was organized at Air Force Station Sonegaon, Nagpur on 08 Aug 22 to celebrate ‘AZADI KA AMRUT MAHOTSAV’ towards 75th anniversary of India’s Independence. The mini marathon was flagged off by Station Commander, Air Force Station Sonegaon. The event witnessed wholehearted participation of air warriors of the Station. The purpose of the run was to instill a sense of patriotism and expressing our gratitude to our freedom fighters. The theme was 75 for 7.5 Km at 7.5 (07:30 am).
On 15 Aug 22, the National Flag was hoisted by the Stn Cdr. A Wreath Laying ceremony was also organized at the War Memorial as a tribute to our soldiers who have sacrificed their lives in protecting the sovereignty of our Nation. Wg Cdr Chinmaya Patro (29679-T) F(P) of 159 Helicopter Unit was also felicitated by the Stn Cdr who has been conferred with VM(G) on 26 Jan 22. To mark the 75th Independence, a Tree Plantation drive was also undertaken at Air Force Station Sonegaon on 18 Aug 22. The Air Veterans along with the air warriors planted 75 saplings in the campus.
Air warriors and their families hoisted the National Flag at their respective residences to celebrate “HAR GHAR TIRANGA PROGRAMME”.
