KUALA LUMPUR. 9 April 2018 . Airbus will highlight its extensive range of defence, space and helicopter products and services at next week’s Defence Services Asia 2018 (DSA 2018) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The 16th edition of the exhibition will take place at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre on 16-19 April 2018.

Visitors to the Airbus stand (#20092 in Hall 2B) can get information on the company’s leading-edge military fixed wing and rotary aircraft, as well as its satellite products.

The stand will feature scale models of the A400M military airlifter, which is in service with the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), the C295 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) which meets the country’s surveillance requirements, and the Eurostar 3000 satellite which is suitable for all communications missions. From the Airbus Helicopters division, there will be scale models of the versatile H225M heavy helicopter from the Super Puma family, which is in service with the RMAF, as well as the popular H175 super-medium and H135 light-twin civil rotorcraft.

Malaysia is a key customer for Airbus across its divisions. It is the first export customer for the A400M, and the RMAF took delivery of its fourth airlifter in 2017. Airbus delivered MEASAT-3b, the largest satellite ordered by the country’s communication sector, in 2014.

The company is a leader in Malaysia’s rotorcraft segment with over 100 civil and military helicopters in service in the country. Airbus also has major regional helicopter maintenance, repair, and overhaul facilities and a training centre in Subang.

The country’s airlines are important Airbus customers and have ordered more than 720 passenger and cargo aircraft from the company. Over 270 Airbus aircraft are in service on domestic, regional and long-haul routes, helping to make Malaysia a regional air hub.

Airbus also has strong industrial partnerships in Malaysia, which is its largest supplier in South East Asia and a primary source of composite parts. “Made in Malaysia” aircraft parts fly on the complete Airbus civil aircraft product line (A320 family, A330neo, A350 XWB, and A380), as well as the A400M and H130 helicopter. Airbus’s sourcing and partnerships are worth USD 400 million per year for the local economy and sustain over 4,000 Malaysian jobs.
