Tel-a-Viv. 15 November 2023. Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) salutes Israel’s defense establishment and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) after the first interception by the Arrow-3 system against a long-range ballistic missile; this follows a number of successful intercepts by Arrow-2.

Arrow is a central component in the Israel Air Force multi-layered air-defense system, used to protect against ballistic missiles, and proves yet again that the State of Israel possesses both the technologies allowing it to essentially ‘hit a bullet with a bullet’, high in space, as well as the people behind Arrow – those who have labored, initiated, planned and built the systems, as well as those who operate them.

The first operational interception of the Arrow-3 system successfully intercepted a long-range ground-to-ground missile launched toward Israel’s southern port of Eilat, far from Israel’s borders. This, together with a succession of intercepts in recent days using the Arrow-2 system, stresses the capabilities that IAI has developed under the leadership of both Israel’s Ministry of Defense, and the United States Missile Defense Agency.

IAI’s workers and its partners in Israel’s defense industries, Rafael, Tomer and Elbit Systems, are working non-stop with the full support and cooperation of Israel’s Ministry of Defense and the IDF and are proud to work to ensure Israel’s defense and security against all threats.

IAI President and CEO, Boaz Levy, said: “This is truly a historic interception, which stresses the strategic character of the State of Israel’s multi-layered missile defense against long-range ballistic threats”.
