Bangalore, India. January 09, 2017. Arijit Ghosh has been named president and managing director of Textron India Private Limited, effective immediately.
Ghosh will be responsible for coordinating Textron’s overall relationship with the Indian government, the Ministry of Defense and the individual military services. He will work closely with Textron’s aerospace and industrial businesses to define and execute growth strategies for India and support key business development initiatives. He will also lead an organization that provides engineering design and support and information technology support services to Textron businesses.
Most recently, Ghosh has been serving as president of Honeywell Aerospace India since 2014, responsible for providing strategic direction for operations and initiatives in India and neighboring countries. Previously, he was the country head of Honeywell’s Defense & Space business in the South Asia region where he led all aspects of the business. He joined Honeywell in 2008 as director of strategy and business development for the aerospace business, including mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining Honeywell, Ghosh was a consultant at McKinsey & Co. where he specialized in business to business sales and marketing. He also served eight years with the Indian Foreign Service in a variety of positions in Japan and China including as the Consul in India’s Consulate General in Shanghai, China.
Ghosh earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Jadavpur University, Calcutta and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School in Boston, Mass. Fluent in Japanese and conversant in Mandarin Chinese, he has also led the Shanghai-India Business Association and the Japan-India Friendship Association.
