Greenwich, London. 11 September 2017.Edinburgh-based manufacturer, Vert Rotors introduces the world’s smallest, most powerful air compressor –a component necessary for defence and space travel operations at this year’s Defence Security Equipment International (DSEI) in London.

The company’s latest air compressor, VERT.8 produces extraordinary high pressure in a single stage, at low noise and low vibration. Reaching 0-20 bar pressure in just 60 seconds, VERT.8 is the smallest, lightest and most powerful air compressor in its category currently in the world.

Suitable for both operations on the ground and in transit, the VERT.8 is the first high pressure / low noise compressor that can run from a 24V battery pack. This compressor only weights 30kg, three times lighter than the next smallest comparable compressor and provides pressure that is twice as high. Light, compact and transportable, no other compressor matches its capabilities and potential across a wide reaching range of applications.

In contrast to traditional large and heavy compressor systems, which take multiple stages to produce 20 bar pressure, VERT.8 is the first compressor to produce such pressure in a single stage, and supply pressure at the point of use – when you need it, where you need it.
Also included in Vert’s portfolio of micro compressors is the VERT.04. VERT.04 technology was first unveiled as part of a prototype satellite cooling system for the UK’s Ministry of Defence’s Centre for Defence Enterprise, which aims to improve the quality of infrared imaging.
Olly Dmitriev, CEO of Vert Rotors explains: “Traditionally, small high-pressure applications were serviced by reciprocating piston compressors. Unfortunately, they produce high levels of vibration and noise, unacceptable in many circumstances. Our conical screw design removes high vibration, improves efficiency by 35% and is ideally suited to a portable application.”

“Our compressors will make it possible to build and service applications otherwise thought impossible. This is the next generation of air compressor technology; faster, more efficient and more powerful than anything that has come before it. We are confident our micro technology will transform a number of industries, especially defence and aerospace.”
