General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and the Minister of Defense and Military Production of Egypt, received in Cairo (photo) Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, UAE Minister of State for Defense Affairs, who is currently visiting Egypt to attend the Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX 2018).

Cairo (photo) Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, UAE Minister of State for Defense Affairs, who is currently visiting Egypt to attend the Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX 2018).

During the meeting, both sides discussed the latest regional developments and ways of expanding their bilateral cooperation, especially in the areas of defense and the military, Emirates News Agency WAM reported.

Al Bowardi expressed his wish for the success of EDEX 2018, while General Mohamed Zaki welcomed Emirati companies and official delegations taking part in the exhibition.

Al Bowardi then met with Dr. Mohamed Saeed Al Assar, Egyptian Minister of State for Military Production, to discuss the military and defense ties between the two countries.

The meetings were also attended by senior officers from the Egyptian Ministry of Defense.

Prior to his departure to Egypt, the UAE Minister of State for Defense Affairs received in Abu Dhabi the Algerian Deputy Defense Minister and Chief-of-Staff Ahmed Kayed Saleh and his accompanying delegation.

For his part, Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib al-Busaidi, Oman’s Minister Responsible for Defense Affairs and his accompanying delegation also headed Sunday to Arab Republic of Egypt to attend the first Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX 2018) per an official invitation from General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production at the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Sayyid al-Busaidi was seen off at A’Seeb Air Base by Air Vice Marshal Mattar bin Ali al-Obaidani, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), Senior Officers at the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Sultanate, and the Military Attaché at the Egyptian Embassy in Muscat, according to Oman News Agency (ONA).
