Paris. 05 February 2019. In 2018, Thales was once again included in the Top 100 Global Innovators list published on 23 January by Clarivate Analytics.

In the last eight years, Thales has appeared six times in this prestigious ranking, which recognises the volume, success and influence of our patents. This achievement underlines the company’s commitment to innovating, protecting our ideas and bringing our inventions to market. The Thales portfolio, which includes more than 15,000 patents, is regularly adapted to operational requirements. In 2018, we filed almost 350 new patent applications.

This latest ranking is a mark of global recognition of Thales’s research and innovation potential. It reflects our continuous investment in R&D, with close to €900 million in self-funded research and development in 2018, as well as the close collaboration between our five research centres around the world, the Digital Factory, the R&T teams in Europe, North America and Asia, and the ecosystems bringing together customers, academic partners, startups and technology companies.
