‘Khrizantema-S’ anti-tank complex, ‘Kornet-E’, ‘Verba’, & ‘Iskander-E’ missile systems to be displayed in India

 New Delhi.  March 25, 2016. Rostec today announced that it would be displaying a diverse range of its short range ballistic missile and anti-tank weapon systems at the international defense and arms exhibition DEFEXPO India 2016. These will include the ‘Khrizantema-S’ anti-tank complex. In addition JSC High Precision Systems will also showcase the ‘Kornet-E’, ‘Verba’, &‘Iskander-E’ missile systems, for the first time at Defexpo India.

Tecmash, a member company of Rostec and Russia’s largest manufacturer of ammunition will hold talks with the Indian Ministry of Defense at Defexpo India-2016 about setting up joint-production facilities with Indian partners. This will be specific to the joint development and production of 23 mm–155 mm caliber ammunition in India.

The United Engine Corporation (UEC) will also present models of aircraft and naval engines at the expo. Rostec member company “Russian Helicopters” will also present the Mi-38 and Ka-226T at DEFEXPO India 2016.

 Highlighting the above, Mr. Sergei Chemezov, General Director, Rostec State Corporation said, “DEFEXPO India-2016 is a very important event for the Indian defense industry. The Indian government’s ambitious ‘Make in India’ program is aimed at the localization of production within the country and involves creation of joint ventures and localization of technologies. India has been our strategic partner over many years. Today we are working on the expansion of cooperation in various fields in accordance with this vector – in the traditional sphere of military-technical cooperation, as well as civil areas of industry: electronics, biotechnology and composite materials.”

“Russian Helicopters” will present the latest Mi-38 and Ka-226T, and will hold talks with India’s leading aircraft manufacturer Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, an Indian shipping company Pawan Hans Limited, which operates the Mi-172 helicopters, and other organizations. “Russian Helicopters” plans to hold the presentation of the Mi-38 and Mi-171A2 for Pawan Hans Limited as well.

“High Precision Systems” intends to show at the exhibition arms complex with a fire control system and guided weapons “Kornet-E” for equipment of armored vehicles, a model of the anti-aircraft missile gun complex “Pantsir-S1”, the layout of the portable anti-aircraft missile system 9K333 “Verba”, model of the operational tactical missile complex “Iskander-E” and self-propelled anti-tank complex “Khrizantema-S”.

At present the “Verba” MANPADS is entering into service with the Russian Army, and its first appearance internationally will take place at “DEFEXPO India – 2016”. It boasts enhanced combat capabilities, in comparison with its predecessors, including engagement of such small-size targets as cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. In addition, surface-to-air missiles“Sosna-R”, the automated complex “Sosna” and “Palma” marine automated anti-aircraft artillery complex with a “Sosna-R” guided missile will also be displayed.

United Engine Corporation (UEC) will present models of the most advanced production engine for military aircraft (including Su-35 aircraft) AL-41F-1S and examples of competencies created in the Russian Federation in the development and manufacture of marine engines E70 / 8RD. UEC will also display models of engines for other aircraft (AL-31FP, AL-41F-1S, RD-33MK, the AL-55I), for helicopters (VK-2500, TV3-117) and ships (M-70FRU) .

At the Rosoboronexport stand one will find promotional materials with data on more than 200 items of Russian-made armaments and military equipment.

It is expected that foreign specialists will pay special attention to notable items such as the T-90MS main battle tank, BMP-3 infantry combat vehicle, Kalashnikov assault rifles of the hundredth series, air defence systems such as S-400, Pantsir-S1 and Tor-M2KM (mounted on the Indian-made TATA chassis), Amur-1650 submarine, Project 11356 frigate, Project 11711E large landing ship, Project 21301 rescue vessel, and Project 12701 Alexandrite-E mine countermeasures ship.

The joint Russian delegation will hold a press conference on March 29, 2016 at 11:15 am at the Media Center (Hall # 8) at DEFEXPO India 2016. The focus of the conference will be: “The prospects of military-technical cooperation between Russia and India”.
