India’s requirement for new pilots to match the number of new aircraft on order exceeds 30,000 over the coming couple of decades the experts estimate.

How to best do this is a major question for the pilot training sessions at Aviation India, with Khushbeg Jattana of Simaero well placed to address the country’s “Train in India” ambitions as a start-up simulator operator.

2026 is a big year for Khushbeg Jattana and the French pilot training firm as they inaugurate their first full-flight aircraft simulator in India.

The official opening of Simaero’s Delhi Training Centre, which it says marks the beginning of a new era in aviation training in India, took place in June.

Khushbeg will explain how Simaero is playing its part. Its gleaming new building in Gurgaon houses one Airbus A320 simulator today, but the multi-million-dollar facility will be packed with eight sims when fully stocked.

India has about 40 full-flight simulators today and probably needs double that by 2030 to meet its pilot training needs.

Aviation INDIA Summit & Exhibition takes please 3-4 November, JW Mariott Hotel, Aerocity, New Delhi.
