Aviation India is proud to announce that Parichay Datta, senior vice president engineering & maintenance at IndiGo, will be a speaker at the 2026 Summit, which is the third in what is fast becoming one of India’s leading annual aviation events.

A third-generation aviator, Parichay has been associated with IndiGo since its inception in 2006 as part of the launch team, contributing significantly to the airline’s rapid growth and transformation.

With over 25 years of experience in the aviation industry, Parichay has been instrumental in advancing aircraft maintenance practices, operational efficiency, and the highest standards of safety.

Datta has played a pivotal role in driving IndiGo’s digitalization efforts, building a self-reliant maintenance ecosystem and introducing automation to streamline operations.

His leadership extends across managing a vast technical operation of more than 2,000 flights daily, while also shaping the airline’s MRO strategy.

IndiGo has an in-service fleet of over 420 aircraft, including Airbus A320neos, A321XLRs and ATR 72s. Furthermore, there are 800+ more single-aisle A320s on order and then there’s 60 A350-900s on order arriving from 2028.

A key pilar in IndiGo’s strategy as its fleet size grows is an increasing drive towards self-sufficiency for its maintenance and engineering needs.

Parichay, alongside peers from other airlines and the top engineering players in India, will debate the dynamics of India’s MRO development at Aviation India 2026.

  • What are airline plans to add MRO capacity and capability?
  • What investments are airframe and engine MROs making in India?
  • What policy support does the MRO industry need?
  • How should the regulatory environment adapt?
