New Delhi | 4 May 2026: IG Defence is set to showcase its advanced indigenous systems, KAL and JWALA, at the North Tech Symposium 2026 scheduled for May 4, along with a broader portfolio spanning unmanned aerial systems, unmanned ground vehicle, swarm technologies, logistics platforms, and anti-drone solutions. The presentation is expected to offer an early view into the company’s expanding work across precision strike, autonomous systems, and counter-UAS capabilities, aligning with India’s growing focus on self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
The North Tech Symposium 2026 is positioned as one of India’s emerging platforms for showcasing next-generation military technologies, bringing together key stakeholders from the armed forces, defence PSUs, private industry, and innovation ecosystems. The showcase comes at a time when recent global conflicts have underlined the importance of scalable, cost-effective, and electronically resilient warfare systems, from long-range drones in the Russia–Ukraine conflict to the widespread deployment of loitering munitions and counter-drone technologies in evolving geopolitical tensions.
Within this context, KAL is IG Defence’s long-range strike drone category, designed for deep-penetration strike missions with a range of up to 1,000 kilometres and endurance of three to six hours. It integrates GNSS-aided navigation, autonomous waypoint flight, and optical targeting to enable precision engagement of high-value targets in contested environments.
Complementing this, JWALA is a short-range rapid-response missile system built for high-speed, high-accuracy engagements, having inertial navigation with terminal precision guidance, and a modular launch architecture enabling flexible deployment across terrains.
Alongside these flagship platforms, IG Defence will also showcase FPV STRIKER, a low-cost tactical precision strike system that was deployed during Operation Sindoor, followed by the GAJA Logistics Drone with capacity 100-200 kgs for heavy-lift supply missions in remote and high-altitude regions. The company will further present UGV NANDI for ground logistics and reconnaissance, the ASTRA Swarm System for coordinated multi-drone autonomous operations, and the SKYHAWK VTOL for long-endurance ISR missions.
Further strengthening its multi-domain capabilities, the company will present its anti-drone solutions, designed to detect, track, and neutralize hostile UAVs through a combination of electronic warfare, RF detection, and countermeasure systems, addressing the growing threat of drone-based attacks in modern battlefields.
On the need to build indigenous capabilities aligned with evolving operational requirements, Bodhisattwa Sanghapriya, Founder and CEO, IG Defence, said, “There is a growing need to build capabilities that are both relevant to current operational realities and developed within the country. Atmanirbharta in defence is not only about reducing dependence, but about creating systems that can evolve, adapt, and be sustained over time. With Project KAL and JWALA, along with our broader autonomous and counter-drone ecosystem, the focus has been on developing platforms that respond to real operational requirements while strengthening India’s indigenous defence ecosystem.”
Adding to this, Major General R.C. Padhi (Retd.), Senior Vice President – R&D, IG Defence, said, “Modern conflict environments are increasingly defined by systems that can respond quickly and operate with precision across diverse scenarios. What we are seeing globally is a shift towards integrated capabilities combining strike, surveillance, swarm intelligence, and counter-drone measures. Our effort has been to build complementary systems that together enhance operational effectiveness across the battlefield.”
The planned showcase reflects IG Defence’s broader expansion into high-demand defence segments, including unmanned systems, rapid-response strike platforms, and counter-UAS technologies. As India continues to prioritise indigenous innovation and scalable defence solutions, platforms such as KAL and JWALA, along with the company’s wider ecosystem, signal a shift towards more adaptable, integrated, and future-ready capabilities.
The North Tech Symposium 2026 is expected to serve as a key platform for engagement among defence stakeholders, with IG Defence’s participation highlighting the growing role of Indian private sector companies in shaping next-generation warfare systems and strengthening national defence preparedness.
