Kolkata. 16 February 2024. Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd (GRSE) has been honoured with the prestigious Women in Public Sector (WIPS) Award 2024 at the 34th WIPS National Meet held at Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd Management Academy, Bengaluru. The award was presented to GRSE by Her Highness Smt. Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, the Maharani of Mysore, in the esteemed presence of Shri Atul Sobti, Director General, Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), Smt. Varsha S. Raut, President, WIPS APEX, members of WIPS APEX, Central Governing Body Members and other dignitaries representing various Public Sector Undertakings.
The WIPS Award acknowledges GRSE’s steadfast commitment and active participation in WIPS activities within the company. Over the years, GRSE’s management has consistently supported and championed initiatives aimed at fostering diversity and inclusivity within its workforce. This marks the fifth consecutive award for the GRSE-WIPS cell, underscoring the organisation’s unwavering dedication to gender equality and empowerment. The WIPS award was instituted by the Central APEX Forum of WIPS in 1992 and is presented annually to select PSUs in recognition of the finest efforts made to harness the growth & development of Women in PSUs.
