Maintenance Command celebrates World Environment Day

New Delhi. 07 June 2023. In order to promote Mission Life (Lifestyle For Environment), a series of events were organized at HQ Maintenance Command, Vayusena Nagar for a month as a precursor to the World Environment Day. The events were aimed to nudge the air warriors and their families to be a part of solution of protecting our environment and in turn our planet. A series of lectures on conservation of water, No to plastics, waste management, swachhata actions, preservation of biodiversity, concept of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle articles of daily use, etc. were delivered amongst all personnel of Vayusena Nagar to sensitise them about the root cause of the climate change and mould their lifestyle for environment preservation. All the air warriors of the Maintenance Command also took Earth Day Pledge to think carefully about how they would like to invest on the future of the planet.
Besides plantation of trees in the campus by the airwarriors, a series of activities to promote a healthy lifestyle through yoga, meditation, walking and regular morning exercises, commuting to offices on bicycles, taking part in various sports activities have become a culture at Vayusena Nagar. All the personnel were involved in collection of discarded plastics from homes and in and around the campus for its proper disposal. To educate and inspire children to live in harmony with nature and become valiant protectors of a green future, painting, drawing and slogan writing competitions were held on the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution”, which is the theme of 2023 World Environment Day.
