Four BSF troopers martyred in unprovoked cross border firing by Pakistan on Jammu IB

New Delhi. 13 June 2018. Despite ceasefire agreements, Pakistan resorts to blatant violations and continues with unprovoked cross border fire also on Jammu IB. After DGMO level talks on 29^th May’ 2018, Sector Commander level meeting of BSF & Rangers on 4^th June’ 2018 & telephonic talk on 12^thJune’ 2018, it was agreed to maintain peace and tranquillity on the Jammu IB. But last night at 2140 hrs, Pak Ranger Post Asraf started unprovoked firing on BOP-Chamliyal, Ramgarh sector, with flat/High Trajectory weapons to the regular border troops of Border Security Force.

Retaliating this unprovoked fire, ASI Ram Niwas got injured. Jitendra Singh, Assistant Commandant, the Company Commander rushed with reinforcement to evacuate injured trooper. Amidst on going fire during evacuation a mortar shell fired from Pakistan side exploded and injured the evacuation party. Jitendra Singh, Assistant Commandant, SI Rajneesh Kumar, ASI Ram Niwas and Constable Hans Raj Gujar sustained grievous injuries and attained martyrdom. 03 other injured personnel were immediately evacuated to the medical facilities.
