As Japan strengthens its defense capabilities and expands international cooperation, the importance of reinforcing the defense industrial base and deepening technological collaboration continues to grow. Against this backdrop, the Defense Suppliers Summit Japan (DSS Japan), to be held on 19–20 January 2027 at the Shinjuku NS Building in Tokyo, is attracting attention as a new international business platform that connects Japanese defense-related companies with the global supply chain.

The event is organized by advanced business events (abe) and BCI Aerospace, abe’s aerospace and defense brand, which together have more than 30 years of experience in hosting international business meetings in the aerospace and defense sectors. DSS Japan has been designed as Japan’s first international B2B platform dedicated specifically to defense and security, leveraging this extensive expertise.

A key feature of the event is the pre-arranged 30minute B2B meetings between exhibitors and Japanese defense/security companies, procurement departments, and system integrators. Participants select their preferred counterparts in advance, and meetings are scheduled only upon mutual agreement, enabling efficient and purpose-driven business discussions. Unlike traditional exhibition formats, DSS Japan functions as a practical forum focused on concrete procurement needs and technological cooperation.

With Japan expanding frameworks for defense equipment transfer and strengthening supply chain resilience, opportunities for overseas companies to enter the Japanese market are increasing. DSS Japan provides a fair and structured environment for domestic and international companies to build mid to longterm partnerships aligned with these trends.

During the event, government agencies and OEMs will share the latest industry developments through seminars, exhibitors will host technical workshops, and a networking reception will be held on the first evening, offering multiple opportunities for engagement.

As the inaugural edition, DSS Japan 2027 is expected to become a new hub connecting Japan’s defense and security industry with the international supply chain and to grow into a major event in the AsiaPacific region in the coming years.
