• The contract includes delivery of the SPREOS DIRCM along with Airworthiness Certification (STC) for the AeroShield POD with AIRBUS France

Tel-a-viv. 02 August 2021. BIRD Aerosystems has signed a new contract for the delivery of the SPREOS DIRCM solution and for the certification of BIRD Aerosystems’ AMPS-MD on Airbus 320 type aircraft.

The advanced SPREOS DIRCM Solution will enhance aircraft protection by providing unique threat confirmation, tracking and jamming of all advanced IR-guided missiles. Using a semi-active interrogation radar, SPREOS confirms the validity of the incoming threat hence eliminating all false alarms, while precisely tracking and analyzing the threat’s unique information to enable the most effective jamming response.

The complete AMPS-MD system, including the SPREOS, will be installed into BIRD’s all-in-one AeroShield POD, which will be certified on the customer A-320 aircraft in collaboration with Airbus France, the aircraft OEM, achieving a supplemental type certificate (STC) for the system installation on the aircraft.

Ronen Factor, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Founder at BIRD Aerosystems, “BIRD Aerosystems AMPS has proved its efficiency in protecting large aircraft such as the Airbus 320, and we are proud to enhance the protection of our customer with our unique SPREOS DIRCM system while additionally proving them with the required validation of the airworthiness of the installation by the OEM. BIRD Aerosystems’ solutions are in long-term use by customers around the world including Airbus and other large commercial, governmental, military, and transnational organizations, and we appreciate the confidence they’ve placed in our solutions”.
