Los Angeles. 27 June 2018 . Air Lease Corporation announced the delivery of one new Boeing 787-9 aircraft on lease to LOT Polish Airlines. This Boeing aircraft joins three B737-8 MAX aircraft currently on lease to LOT from ALC, with an additional three B737-8 MAX aircraft confirmed to deliver in 2018 and 2019 from ALC’s order book with Boeing.

“We are pleased to announce the delivery of this Boeing 787-9 aircraft to LOT today,” said Alex Khatibi, Executive Vice President of Air Lease Corporation.  “LOT is a pioneer in the European market and with this new 787-9 Dreamliner, the airline continues to demonstrate its highly competitive position with a modern and diverse fleet.”

“LOT is the first airline in Europe whose long-haul fleet consists only of Dreamliners. By the end of 2019, we will have 15 Dreamliners in our fleet,” said Rafał Milczarski, LOT’s CEO. “They are still considered to be the most state-of-the-art aircraft in the world, offering unparalleled travel experience in that class. I am convinced that the B787-9s will significantly increase the number of seats on the existing most popular routes. Boeing 787-9 will be perfect for our flagship flights to selected American and Asian destinations and will enable us to launch completely new routes as well. Investments in our fleet and fruitful cooperation with ALC enable us to grow and gain the leading position on the market in the Central and Eastern Europe,” added Rafał Milczarski.

In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Poland’s renewed independence, this Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner will feature a special patriotic livery designed by LOT.
