
Rear Admiral Chandrasekharan Raghuram, VSM (Retd.) has assumed charge as the Chairman & Managing Director of HSL, Visakhapatnam on 02 Jul 26.
Rear Admiral C Raghuram, VSM (Retd.) was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 10 Nov 1989 and has served with distinction for over three and a half decades. Over his distinguished Naval career, he has acquired rich and diverse experience across Naval Engineering, Ship Maintenance, Strategic Planning and Leadership at key Operational and Command appointments. In recognition of his distinguished service, he was conferred the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) in 2017.
An alumnus of the Naval College of Engineering, Lonavala, Cranfield University (United Kingdom), Naval War College and National Defence College, he has built an illustrious career with extensive experience in Afloat Operations, Equipment Life Cycle Support (LCS), Research & Development, Warship Design, Combat System Integration and Instructional assignments. He has served onboard frontline warships viz. INS Gomati and INS Trishul, including as part of the Commissioning Crew of INS Trishul. His assignments at Naval Dockyard, Afloat Support Team for Talwar Class Ships and Weapons and Electronics Systems Engineering Establishment (WESEE) provided significant expertise in Life Cycle Support and Combat System Integration.
During his distinguished career, he has held several important appointments including Commanding Officer of the premier Training Establishment INS Valsura, Principal Director Electrical Engineering at Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy), Command Electrical Officer at Headquarters, Eastern Naval Command, Chief Staff Officer (Technical) at Headquarters, Western Naval Command, besides Senior leadership roles at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai and Naval Headquarters. Prior to assuming charge at HSL, he was serving as the Assistant Chief of Materiel, handling maintenance of key Naval Platforms.
As Chairman & Managing Director, Rear Admiral C Raghuram (Retd) will steer Hindustan Shipyard Limited towards further strengthening its position as a strategic Defence Shipyard and advancing India’s vision of Self-reliance in Maritime Defence capabilities
