R Adm Lochan Singh Pathania

New Delhi. 13 October 2021. Rear Admiral Lochan Singh Pathania, has taken over as Joint Chief Hydrographer at the National Hydrographic Office, Dehradun. Commissioned in the Executive Branch of the Indian Navy in 1990, he specialised in Hydrography.

The Flag Officer is a graduate of Naval Academy, Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington and College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad. He holds a Masters degree in Defence and Strategic Studies from the University of Madras and Management Studies from Osmania University. He is also qualified Interviewing Officer (SSB). During his Basic ‘Hydrography’ course he was awarded a Cat ’B’ degree from International Maritime Academy, Trieste Italy.

He has commanded two ships namely, INS Sandhayak and INS Darshak. He has been Deputy President Naval Selection Board (Visakhapatnam), the Principal Director at Directorate of Hydrography at the Integrated Headquarters, New Delhi and Officer-in-Charge at the National Hydrographic Office, Dehradun prior to taking charge as the Joint Chief Hydrographer.
