• Orlando-based global training solutions firm honored in Defense Tech category.

Orlando, Fl. 01 April 2021. Engineering & Computer Simulations (ECS) has been honored as the Inaugural Synapse Innovation Award winner in the Defense Tech category. ECS was selected from 85 applicants by a panel of judges located throughout Florida. These inaugural awards were presented at the close of the fourth annual Synapse Summit, presented by Synapse Florida.

ECS has innovated simulation training with an updated cross-platform version of Tactical Combat Casualty Care 2020 (TC3Sim 2020). In September 2020, their team unveiled TC3Sim 2020, to support the existing training curriculum within the U.S. Army.

TC3Sim 2020 is an innovative simulation trainer with an enhanced suite of capabilities designed to improve the quality of battlefield training for our warfighters and to potentially save more lives on and off of the battlefield. This type of innovative combat medic training, when applied in a non-military medical environment, can be modified to train other first responders, including emergency medical technicians (EMTs), emergency room personnel, and firefighters to provide healthcare professionals the tools that they need to improve their quality of training and retention to potentially save more lives in critical situations. ECS is currently working with the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL to test this training integrated with haptic technology, with the intention of guiding this type of medical simulation training towards acceptance at the clinic.

Waymon Armstrong, ECS CEO/President says: “ECS has been focused on leading the integration of immersive technology to make our military and first responders stronger for almost 24 years. I am amazed at the talent and innovation within our simulation and training industry and I am excited that we can collaborate to potentially save more lives on and off of the battlefield. We are proud to deliver global training solutions, such as TC3, that truly make a difference.”
