Hanoi. May 23, 2016At 11:40am today at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi, Vietjet – the New Age Carrier in Vietnam andPratt & Whitney of United Technologies Corp. signed an agreement for supply of aircraft engines to power the airline’s newly order of aircraft A320NEO and A321NEO as well as technical and maintenance service for this fleet. His Excellency Mr. Trần Đại Quang President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and U.S. President Barack Obama and both countries’ government leaders delegation witnessed the agreement signed by Vietjet Vice President Dinh Viet Phuong and Pratt & Whitney’s Vice President Sale, Mary Ellen Jones. The agreement valued at USD3.04 billion.

This is the significant event following the signing MOU between Vietjet and Pratt & Whitney under United Technologies Corp at Singapore Airshow held in February 2016.‎

Pratt & Whiney Company under the United Technologies Corporation has won the international bid to become aircraft engine provider for Vietjet fleet. Pratt & Whitney engines allow the carrier to enjoy greatly operational efficiency. Further more, this type of engine offers 17-percent lower fuel consumption for all flights, which not only brings forth economic efficiency, but also significantly contributes to environmental protection
