On the occasion of the 93rd Indian Air Force Day, Unit took another progressive step by enrolling, students of Air Force School Vayusena Nagar into Air Wing NCC. Air Force School, Nagpur celebrated this momentous milestone on the induction of Air Wing NCC for the training year 2025–26. The ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Gp Capt P. Prajesh, Chairman, School Management Committee and Commanding Officer, HQMC(U) Air Force; Wg Cdr V. Deepika Rao, Commanding Officer, 2 MAH Air Sqn NCC, Nagpur; Sqn Ldr Vikash Kumar, Executive Director; WO Amit Kumar Singh, Manager, AF School; Bhupendra Bondre, Principal, AF School; and WO Nikhil Nishchay, Adjutant, 2 MAH Air Sqn NCC, Nagpur.

The event began with the lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing knowledge, courage and the soaring spirit of the Indian Air Force. This was followed by inspiring addresses from the Executive Director and the Commanding Officer, who spoke about the values of discipline, leadership, and patriotism that NCC instils in students.

Head Quarter Maintenance Command, IAF has been a strong supporting ground for conduct of Airwing National Cadet Corps training in Nagpur. With induction of NCC in Air force school, both the Indian Air Force and NO 2 Air Sqn NCC, aims to provide a structured platform for students aspiring to join the Indian Armed Forces. With the constant support of HQMC (U) Air Force, 2 MAH Air Sqn NCC, Nagpur continues to scale new heights, consistently achieving excellence in prestigious platforms like the All India Vayu Sainik Camp (AIVSC) and setting benchmarks for others to follow.

For the training year 2025–26, Air Force School has been allotted 50 Air Wing NCC vacancies. 25 cadets have already joined the first batch, while the remaining 25 will be enrolled next year. The school received this out-of-turn allotment under a special policy by the Directorate General of NCC (DGNCC), opening doors for Kendriya Vidyalaya, Air Force School and Sainik Schools.

Reflecting on this milestone, Principal Bhupendra Bondre said, “The induction of the Air Wing NCC at Air Force School is a proud moment for our students and their families. This initiative not only nurtures discipline and leadership but also lights the first spark for those dreaming of a career in the Air Force.
