Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) visits IAF’s HQ Maintenance CommandNagpur, India. 10 June 2023. Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of Indian Armed Forces, General Anil Chauhan visited HQ Maintenance Command on 10 Jun 23. The CDS was received by Air Marshal Vibhas Pande, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command, Nagpur.

The CDS was given a presentation on ‘Maintenance Command’s Role & task and Self-reliance Initiatives’ by Air Marshal CR Mohan, Senior Maintenance Staff Officer. During his address to the officers, the CDS exhorted that Hon’ble Prime Minister’s ‘Atmanirbhar bharat’ Abhiyan is a significant way to achieve strategic capability turning it into strategic autonomy. He emphasised that in order to transform into a modern integrated fighting force, we need to accept transition from old order to the new and reduce dependency on foreign technology.

The three services need to work jointly to counter emerging threats and achieve greater integration by suitably restructuring the forces for increased co-operation, information sharing and optimum utilisation of resources.

The CDS also witnessed the exhibition on the theme “Problem Statements and Self-reliance Plan” and appreciated the efforts towards achieving self-reliance.
