Airborne Missile Protection Systems

Tel Aviv. 12 November 2018 : BIRD Aerosystems, the leading developer of Airborne Missile Protection Systems (AMPS) and Airborne Surveillance, Information and Observation (ASIO) solutions, will present its AMPS Family of products, including the MACS sensor and the SPREOS DIRCM, at the Quad-A Aircraft Survivability Equipment Symposium. Towards the Quad-A symposium, BIRD Aerosystems confirms that following the successful deployment of BIRD’s AMPS by the US Army, the company has received another follow-on order of additional AMPS from the US Government.

BIRD’s AMPS Family include the MACS sensor, which performs confirmation of suspected incoming missile threats and ensures a zero False Alarm Rate with maximum aircraft protection, and the SPREOS DIRCM, which combines a radar-based confirmation sensor and an active laser jammer, and provides enhanced protection against the immediate threat of Man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS). Both solutions are ITAR free. The SPREOS DIRCM is presented in the USA for the first time in its production configuration.

Ronen Factor, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Founder: “We are happy to once again participate at the Quad-A Aircraft Survivability Equipment Symposium, and to present our cutting-edge AMPS Family, which are already in use by the US Army. BIRD Aerosystems recently received another follow-on order of additional AMPS from the US Government, and we see this as another step towards becoming a central supplier of innovative airborne solutions for the US Army”. He continued: “Besides the US government, BIRD Aerosystems is looking to further extend our offering to the US market in the next years, and offer both the MACS sensor and the SPREOS DIRCM as part of the different ASE solutions”.
