Singapore. 16 February 2022. The Singapore Air Show 2022 sees exciting developments from MBDA as it showcases the latest technologies for air dominance and air defence.

A particular highlight of the international and regionally important air show is the showcasing of next generation weaponry from MBDA that is available to international operators of the F-35 Lightning II combat aircraft. Renowned for their major performance advantage compared to competitor systems, the Meteor, SPEAR and ASRAAM weapons provide a true next generation capability to match the performance of the F-35 aircraft. All three weapons are either fully integrated onto F-35 or are in the process of full integration.

Air Dominance

Full-scale displays:

METEOR – Unique ramjet powered beyond visual range air-to-air missile, providing unmatched performance against modern maneuvering air targets. Available to operators of the F-35A, F-35B, Rafale, Eurofighter Typhoon, Gripen and others.

SPEAR – Stand-off all-weather weapon system utilising SPEAR network-enabled mini-cruise missiles with advanced multi-mode seeker for all-weather engagement of mobile targets at over-the-horizon ranges.

SPEAR-EW – Stand-off and stand-in EW system, complementing SPEAR missiles for highly effective defeat of complex air defences.

SMARTGLIDER – Long-range multi-target precision glide munition weapon family for flexible utility for strike missions from close-air-support to suppression of enemy air defences.
