Delhi, 10 September 2025: ideaForge Technology Limited, a pioneer and India’s pre-eminent market leader in the UAV industry, today announced that its tactical surveillance drone, Q6 V2 platform, has been officially assigned a NATO Stock Number (NSN) under the NATO Codification System (NCS). This marks another major achievement for the company, as it enables standardized procurement of the Q6 V2 platform by NATO and allied forces worldwide. Highlighting India’s growing ability to build export-grade unmanned systems that meet global benchmarks in quality, interoperability, and mission readiness, this codification is a significant strategic leap for India’s indigenous defence manufacturing ecosystem. ideaForges SWITCH UAV is already codified with the NATO Stock Number.
The Q6 V2 is a high-endurance, lightweight, VTOL-capable UAV, designed for tactical ISR (intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance) operations. Developed entirely in India, the platform is equipped with advanced EO/IR payloads, autonomous navigation, encrypted communication, and rapid deployment capability in under 10 minutes. With an endurance of 60 minutes, a 5 km operational range(day and night), a 5.9 kg payload capacity, and several other advanced features, it is field-proven across varied terrains—from high-altitude zones to flood-affected areas. The platform is already operational with Indian defence, homeland security, and disaster management forces.
NATO Stock Numbers (NSNs) are internationally recognized 13-digit identifiers used by 68 countries for sourcing, maintenance, and lifecycle support of military-grade equipment. The assignment of an NSN indicates that the equipment has met strict global classification standards, is operationally deployable, and can now be seamlessly integrated into international defence procurement and logistics systems.
Vipul Joshi, CFO of ideaForge, said: “The NATO Stock Number codification for Q6 V2 platform goes beyond technical validation—it is a strategic gateway for global interoperability. It reinforces ideaForge’s position as a trusted manufacturer of mission-ready UAV systems and reflects India’s growing stature as a hub for high-quality, indigenous defence technology. As global supply chains seek reliable and resilient partners, this milestone strengthens India’s capability to lead in next-generation defence innovation and contribute meaningfully to allied missions worldwide.”
With the NSN codification now in place, ideaForge is exploring strategic collaborations with global system integrators and OEMs to expand the deployment of Q6 V2. The company continues to invest in R&D and system innovation, with a focus on enhancing ISR capabilities tailored for both NATO-aligned missions and emerging global security requirements.
This successful codification of SWITCH UAV and Q6 V2 platform further strengthens the company’s position as a vertically integrated, full-stack UAV manufacturer with the maturity to contribute meaningfully to global defence supply chains. The NSN recognition also highlights the rising maturity of India’s drone manufacturing sector. It emphasizes the broader vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat by placing indigenous UAV systems on par with international defence equipment in terms of operational standards, lifecycle readiness, and strategic relevance.
