Hyderabad. 31 January 2026. Wings India 2026, Asia’s largest and most comprehensive civil aviation exhibition and summit, concluded at Begumpet Airport, Hyderabad, after four days of intense global engagement, high-level policy dialogue, landmark industry announcements, aircraft showcases, and spectacular aerial performances. Organised by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Airports Authority of India (AAI) and FICCI, the event brought together the entire aviation value chain and reaffirmed India’s accelerating journey towards becoming a global aviation hub.
The final two days alone drew over 70,000 visitors, with aviation professionals, business leaders, students and the public thronging the venue to witness static and flying displays, aerobatics by the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team, and displays by internationally acclaimed pilot Mark Jefferies.
With participation from 150+ exhibitors, 75,000+ business visitors, over one lakh general visitors, and 2,000 delegates including 200+ international participants, Wings India 2026 firmly established itself as Asia’s most comprehensive civil aviation platform. More than 500 B2B and B2G meetings, 30+ aircraft displays, global CEO dialogues, and major commercial announcements reflected the scale, ambition and confidence of India’s aviation ecosystem.
From fleet expansion plans and indigenous manufacturing initiatives to skill development, sustainability and regional connectivity, Wings India 2026 showcased how India is moving from being one of the world’s largest aviation markets to becoming a global aviation ecosystem leader. The biennial show will return in 2028, carrying forward the momentum generated in Hyderabad.
Wings India 2026 featured leading airlines including Air India, Air India Express and Akasa Air; global OEMs such as Airbus, Dassault Aviation, ATR, Embraer, De Havilland Canada and Pilatus Aircraft; and Indian organisations like Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and CSIR National Aerospace Laboratories. Airport operators, MROs, training academies, start-ups, technology providers and state aviation bodies collectively showcased the full aviation spectrum.
Air India placed an additional order for 30 Boeing narrowbody aircraft and signed a Component Services Program agreement for its B787 fleet with Boeing Global Services. Air India converted 15 A321neo orders into A321XLR variants with Airbus. Sakthi Group and Omnipol signed an MoU to introduce the L410 NG aircraft in India with a potential Final Assembly Line. HAL signed a contract with Pawan Hans for 10 Dhruv NG helicopters. AAI partnered with ACI for the AMPAP training program for 115 professionals. The KPMG–FICCI report “Paving the Future of Aviation in Viksit Bharat @ 2047” was released.
The event opened with a virtual address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The static display was inaugurated by Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, and the exhibition by Secretary Civil Aviation Sameer Kumar Sinha.
Global aviation leaders including Campbell Wilson, Pieter Elbers, Antonoaldo Neves, Vinay Dube, Jürgen Westermeier and Vadim Badekha participated in conferences spanning airports, airlines, MRO, SAF, drones, leasing, helicopters and women in aviation. Airports increased from 74 to 164 in 11 years, target of 350 airports ahead, 92 airports operationalised under UDAN; 1.5 crore passengers connected, 1,628 pilot licences issued in 2025 reflecting rising manpower demand and this is the story of India’s aviation in 2026.
The Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team flew nine Hawk Mk-132 aircraft with indigenous smoke pods in tricolour formations. Static displays ranged from HAL’s Hindustan 228, Dhruv ALH-NG and LUH, to Airbus A321neo, Falcon 6X, PC-24, IL-114-300, and airline aircraft including Air India’s B787-9 and Akasa’s B737-8 MAX.
The event celebrated outstanding contributions across airports, airlines, sustainability, manufacturing, innovation and state aviation leadership through the Wings India Excellence Awards. Wings India 2026 closed not just as an exhibition, but as a powerful statement of India’s readiness to lead the future of global civil aviation.
