Moscow,28 Dec: During the official visit to Moscow by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi agreement was signed between the Russian Federation and the Republic of India on cooperation in the field of helicopters. The document was signed in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to the document, the holding company “Russian Helicopters” State Corporation Rostec in India will  organize the production of the Russian Ka-226 T and its modifications in not less than 200 units. The agreement also provides for the maintenance, operation and repair of helicopters and providing them with technical support.

“The agreement with India – it is the result of long work with our Indian partners. This is the first Russian-Indian high-tech project, implemented by the Indian government in the framework of the “Do India- (Make in India). The organization for the manufacture of helicopters provided by the creation in India of Russian-Indian joint venture  includes holdings Rostec – JSC “Rosoboronexport” and “Helicopters of Russia”, and  the Indian side of the corporation “HAL”.  General Director of JSC Rostec Chemezov stated ” In future the program can be extended, the sides are considering the joint access to the markets of third countries. Rostec competitive advantage lies in the fact that we are ready to deal with not only the localization of helicopters in India, we also offer our partners the localization of production technology. ”

“Russia and India have long term cooperation in the supply of Russian helicopters. Organization of production of light Ka-226T in India – a big step forward in the development of business relations between the two countries – said the CEO of the holding company “Russian Helicopters” Alexander Mikheyev.” Through the implementation of this ambitious project, we plan to strengthen the position of the holding company in the strategically important South Asian market. I am confident that the project will be successful and will open new prospects for cooperation between India and Russia. ”

Light multipurpose helicopter Ka-226 T development company”Kamov”, part of the holding “Russian Helicopters”, serially produced  KumAPP. It is built on the scheme coaxial rotors and features excellent handling and installed power. Ka-226T is equipped with modern navigation equipment. It can  easily  maneuver in dense urban high-rise buildings and mountains. The absence of a tail rotor and compact dimensions allow the use of small airfields.The helicopter has a low noise level and meets the latest environmental requirements. It has a replaceable transport module, which allows a short time to change the functionality of the helicopter.
