During the Assises du NewSpace, SpaceLocker officially announces it has selected Skynopy to provide ground connectivity for its “Out of the Box” mission—its third mission and the first satellite fully operated by the company, set to launch into low Earth orbit in February 2026. This choice confirms the growing momentum of Skynopy, whose solution is increasingly embraced by NewSpace players for its ease of use and strong performance. Two complementary startups for more accessible and sustainable space
The rise of satellite constellations creates new opportunities—alongside new constraints. Faced with high launch costs, limited infrastructure, and the operational complexity of space missions, SpaceLocker and Skynopy together provide a concrete response.
SpaceLocker is revolutionizing in-orbit hosting with plug-and-play containers as easy to install as a USB port. Ranging from the size of a shoebox to a washing machine, these modular boxes allow multiple customers to share a single satellite. This enables them to send their technologies to space without having to design, finance, or operate a satellite themselves. Meanwhile, Skynopy is simplifying access to satellite data and control with a global high-throughput ground station network deployed at record speed. Its “as-a-service” model allows satellite operators to download data and control their spacecraft as easily as making a phone call. Skynopy’s hybrid model—combining shared infrastructure and proprietary antennas—paired with its software technologies, reduces data revisit times to under 20 minutes, doubles the data volume downloaded per pass… or halves the cost of downlink for smaller missions.
