ALLIANCES Friday, Oct 31 – Qantas has today announced the appointment of John Simeone to the newly created role of Executive Manager, Offshore Sales and Alliances, reporting to CEO International, Cam Wallace.
John returns to Australia following almost two years as Chief Executive Officer of Jetstar Asia, where he led the airline’s operations across the region, as well the recent closure. With more than 30 years’ experience in the global aviation industry, John has extensive commercial expertise across the Qantas Group. He played a key role in the successful restart of Qantas International sales post-COVID and served as Regional General Manager, Asia, based in Singapore from 2019.
In his new role, he will lead Qantas’ offshore sales teams and alliance partnerships. Qantas Regional General Managers across the UK, Europe and South Africa, The Americas and Asia will report to John, along with the Alliances team.
John will commence in the role from 1 December 2025 and Nick McGlynn, Qantas Executive Vice President Asia will report to John.
