Birmingham, UK. 28 May, 2016. Honda Aircraft Company recently handed over its new EASA certified jet to Marshall Aircraft . The crew flew the aircraft from Honda Aircraft Company’s Greensboro facility to Bangor, Maine then to Goose Bay, Canada; to Iqaluit, Frobisher Bay, North Canada; East Sondrestrom, Greenland and then on to Keflavik in Iceland. From Keflavik it flew to Wick in northern Scotland, before its final leg to Marshall’s Birmingham Airport UK facility, where it was greeted with a celebratory water cannon salute.
“As the Northern European dealership, we are very pleased to now have our own HondaJet demonstrator at our Birmingham base,” commented Howard Povey, Head of Aircraft Sales, Northern Europe for Marshall. “We are excited about our customers experiencing this innovative technology, as it not only breaks the conventional mould set by the aerospace industry, but provides category-enhancing advancements such as a more spacious cabin, highest speed and superior fuel efficiency.”
Prior to the official handover on 24th May at Europe’s premier business aviation show, FlairJet pilot Captain Mike Finbow took the lead in ferrying the aircraft from Greensboro, North Carolina. Marshall’s management and charter business FlairJet commented: “The HondaJet handled extremely well, super solid and easy to fly. Climb performance was excellent. This is a premium, state of the art aircraft in the light jet class and its distinctive appearance stands it out from the crowd.”
