- An airline that is being built for generations to come

In just 36 months, Akasa Air has served over 19 million passengers, with a significant leap of 8 million passengers in just the last 12 months and continues to register industry-leading load factors of over 87%, reflecting the strengthening trust of travellers in India and beyond.
Commenting on performance, Vinay Dube, Founder and CEO, Akasa Air, said: “Akasa was born out of a belief that building a great airline requires more than ambition; it requires discipline, purpose, and heart. In just three years, we have proven that it is possible to scale rapidly, deliver consistently, and stay deeply human in how we operate. We are not just growing fast, we are growing right, marked by our steadfast commitment to world-class safety, deep investment in our people, and an obsession with every detail of our customer experience. With over 19 million passengers flown, an engaged workforce of over 4700 Akasians, and a consistent record of operational excellence, Akasa is poised to become a generational institution in global aviation and remains firmly anchored to its long-term vision of being among the top 30 airlines globally by the end of this decade”.
“I am incredibly proud of our team of 4700+ Akasians, grateful for the trust of our passengers, the unwavering support of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the DGCA, the faith displayed by our investors and excited for the future we are shaping, which puts safety, purpose, and people at the heart of aviation’s next chapter. As we continue to grow, we remain committed to building an airline that India can be proud of, and one that is ready to lead in the global skies,” he added.
Operational excellence
Akasa Air achieved significant operational milestones, underscoring its disciplined and precision-led growth strategy. Crossing over 100,000 total departures, including 3,800+ international flights, the airline has scaled its operations with speed and stability, while maintaining the lowest cancellation rate and industry-leading on-time performance in Indian aviation. Akasa has transported over 131,000 tonnes of cargo, swiftly positioning itself as a significant contributor to India’s cargo ecosystem. With a portfolio of 1,150+ corporate partners, the airline is rapidly becoming the carrier of choice for business travellers.
These milestones not only highlight Akasa Air’s operational excellence but also its ability to consistently deliver value across passenger, cargo, and enterprise segments, laying the foundation for a globally competitive airline built on trust and performance.
Financial resilience and discipline
Akasa’s growth has been matched by strong financial stewardship. In FY 25, the airline registered a 49% increase in revenue year-over-year, driven by disciplined expansion and rising unit profitability. Capacity in terms of Available Seat Kilometres (or ASKs) grew at a staggering rate of 48% compared to FY24. The airline also signed agreements with marquee investors for a fresh capital infusion, pending statutory approvals. This investment will strengthen Akasa’s balance sheet and provide the financial runway to accelerate its long-term growth strategy, ensuring resilience in a dynamic aviation landscape. Akasa’s financial strategy, rooted in cost leadership, network optimisation, and prudent expansion, positions it for sustainable profitability in a competitive market.
Network built for today and tomorrow
Akasa Air scaled its fleet to 30 aircraft, serving 28 destinations, comprising 23 domestic and five international cities. This network is a product of thoughtful expansion, conscious fleet deployment, and execution grounded in long-term vision. The airline’s ambition to be a global carrier took another significant step forward with the activation of its first codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways in March 2025.
Raising the bar on employee centricity
Since its inception, the airline has been intentional about fostering a culture anchored in inclusion, empowerment, and pride in the workplace. As India’s first airline to introduce gender-neutral uniforms and performance sneakers in 2022, Akasa has consistently led with progressive policies that reflect the needs of a mobile, modern workforce. In its third year, the airline deepened this commitment through tangible actions such as custom-designed travel gear tailored for crew convenience and high-performance sneakers designed to meet the physical demands of aviation roles. These efforts are not symbolic; they are strategic. By investing in employee wellbeing, Akasa reinforces a simple belief: empowered people deliver exceptional service. This people-first philosophy continues to be a cornerstone of Akasa’s identity and a key driver of its long-term success.
Commitment to service excellence
From day one, Akasa Air has focused on raising the bar for air travel in India, with its multiple industry-first and customer-friendly offerings. Through Café Akasa, the airline has served over 6.4 million meals, offering passengers a gourmet in-flight dining experience, including healthy options, festive meals, and industry-first beverages like Kombucha. The airline has flown over 7100 happy pets across its network through its pet travel service, Pets on Akasa. Its brand-new fleet provides ample legroom, enhanced comfort and is equipped with USB port. Akasa Air offers over 25+ ancillary products, such as Akasa GetEarly, Seat & Meal Deal, Extra Seat and Akasa Holidays, ensuring a highly personalised and seamless journey. With customer-centric innovations like SkyScore by Akasa, SkyLights, QuietFlights, and a Braille safety and menu card for visually impaired passengers, Akasa continues to set new standards for inclusivity and thoughtfulness in aviation.
Looking ahead
As India enters a new chapter of aviation-led growth, Akasa Air will continue to lead with purpose, scale, and foresight. The airline will expand its presence in key markets such as Delhi and will leverage the upcoming Navi Mumbai and Noida International Airports to build a comprehensive network. Akasa Air will expand its global footprint with a foray into new regions, including SAARC and ASEAN over the next few years. The airline expects to have a fleet of 30+ aircraft by the end of this year. Akasa Air projects its Capacity in terms of ASKs to grow at over 30% in the current fiscal and translate this progress into a continued upward trajectory in RASK.
