Madrid, March 10, 2026 – Indra’s E7 Wedgetail simulator is training E7 Wedgetail crews tasked with longrange aerial and maritime surveillance, fighter control and airborne battlespace coordination.

The Operational Flight Trainer (OFT) developed by Indra for aircraft manufacturer Boeing has been installed at Lossiemouth in Scotland, one of the UK’s two Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) stations responsible for protecting national airspace.

The trainer has been specifically developed to allow a crew of two pilots to prepare their missions with full operational fidelity.

The system incorporates the same flight software and avionics as the real aircraft. It enables crews to plan and prepare effective strategies for every sortie, replicating reallife scenarios and delivering highfidelity mission training.

Luis F. Garcia, Business Development Director at Indra Simulation, stated that “our system allows pilots to train as if they were performing a real operation”, and underlined that “Indra is proud to have provided this key training equipment”.

Indra has extensive flightsimulation experience as an OEM for fixedwing aircraft simulators, including Full Mission Simulators (FMS) for the Eurofighter, Airbus A330 MRTT and Airbus A400M, as well as Level D Full Flight Simulators for civil platforms such as the Airbus A330, A320, Boeing 737 and ATR 72.

Additionally, Indra’s portfolio includes FMS for helicopter platforms such as the NH90, Tiger, Cougar, Chinook, Black Hawk, Sea Hawk, AW159 Wildcat and MH53, as well as Full Flight Simulators for civil helicopters including the EC135, H135, H225, H175, AS350, H145, EC145, Bell 212, Bell 412 and the Sikorsky S76.

Indra also maintains a strong presence in the United Kingdom, where it has offices and advanced engineering centres supporting sectors such as air traffic management, space and mobility. In addition to delivering systems for the UK Ministry of Defence, the company maintains close collaborative relationships with the air navigation service provider NATS and with public transport operator Transport for London (TfL), among others.
