A felicitation ceremony was held today at BSF Headquarters, New  Delhi, to honor the extraordinary sports personnel of the Border Security  Force (BSF) who demonstrated exceptional talent and achieved  remarkable success in recent international and national sporting events,  including the World Police & Fire Games, All India Police Shooting  Competition, and the World Wushu Championship.

The event was attended by Shri Daljit Singh Chawdhary, DG BSF,  who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He personally felicitated the  personnel with cash rewards, recognizing their outstanding  accomplishments in the presence of senior BSF officers and officials.

A special highlight of the ceremony was the outstanding  achievement of Constable Anuj of the BSF Central Wushu Team, who  secured a silver medal at the 10th Sanda World Cup held in Jiangyin,  China, in April 2025. In recognition of his exceptional performance at an  international level, DG BSF awarded him an out-of-turn promotion from  Constable to Head Constable—a rare honor bestowed almost after 21 years within the force. This exceptional reward underscores the BSF’s  commitment to nurturing and recognizing extraordinary talent, serving as  a powerful motivation for all sports personnel to excel and strive for  excellence.

In the field of shooting, the BSF shooters team made a significant  mark by bagging the Overall Women’s Championship, along with the Best  Rifle Trophy for Men and the Best Rifle Trophy for Women at the All India  Police Shooting Competition 2024. Their outstanding performance not  only brought pride to the force but also demonstrated the high standards  of excellence maintained by BSF shooters on national platforms.

The BSF team also made history by clinching a total of 74 medals,  including 38 gold medals, at the recent World Police and Fire Games held  in Alabama, USA—marking the highest medal tally ever achieved by BSF  in any international police sporting event.

Furthermore, personnel who participated in the All India Police  Shooting Competition 2024 and secured medals across various  categories were also felicitated with cash rewards, acknowledging their  dedication and sporting excellence.

This ceremony not only celebrated the remarkable achievements of  our sports personnel but also reinforced the importance of recognizing  talent and hard work. The out-of-turn promotion to Constable Anuj  exemplifies how extraordinary performances are duly acknowledged,  inspiring all personnel to put forth greater effort, achieve new heights, and  serve as proud representatives of the force and the nation on the global  sporting stage.
