The National Academy for Defence Production (NADP) has launched its Emotional Well-being Program for PGDM students, in collaboration with YourDOST, India’s leading emotional wellness and career support platform. This initiative directly addresses a growing national concern: the emotional and psychological readiness of India’s youth.
The program was inaugurated by Ms. Gunjan Parag Patel, and is built on the foundation of Emotional Intelligence (EQ)—a concept popularized by Daniel Goleman, who argued that EQ is the defining trait of effective leadership. NADP has developed its own psychometric instrument to assess and cultivate EQ among students, ensuring that emotional growth is not left to chance but is systematically nurtured.
Dr. J P Dash, Principal Director of NADP, emphasized the significance of this initiative:
“In today’s complex world, Emotional Intelligence is not a luxury—it’s a necessity. Leaders must not only think critically but also connect empathetically. Our PGDM program ensures that students are equipped with the emotional depth to lead with clarity, compassion, and courage.”
What makes NADP’s program truly transformative is its partnership with YourDOST, a platform that has revolutionized mental health support in Indian campuses. With over 30 lakh counseling sessions conducted and partnerships with 150+ top institutions including IITs, IIMs, and NITs, YourDOST brings a wealth of experience and credibility.
Students at NADP will now have 24/7 access to over 1000+ trained experts, including psychologists, counselors, and life coaches. They can seek help confidentially and anonymously through chat, voice, or video sessions.
The platform also offers career counseling, emotional intelligence assessments, self-care tools, and interactive workshops on stress management, resilience, and personal growth.
The PGDM program is further enriched with Yoga and Art of Living modules, creating a truly holistic wellness ecosystem that nurtures the mind, body, and spirit. This multi-modal approach ensures that students are not only academically prepared but emotionally empowered to navigate the challenges of leadership and life.
